NBA Monday
1. The Bucks travel to LA to face the Clippers (-3). The Bucks have won 3 in a row, and will have PG Jennings back. Jennings played 11 minutes on Saturday without scoring and should still be rusty on Monday. The Bucks are 8-16 on the road this year. The Clippers are looking for their 9th straight home victory and have beaten the Bucks 9 out of the last 10 meetings in LA. The Clips are the pick!!
2. The Wizards travel to Dallas to take on the Mavs (-9.5). Washington is 0-23 on the road this season and is in the middle of a long road trip. They lost by 14 on Saturday in Memphis, and don't usually compete on the road. The Mavs have won 4 in a row and have been playing much better since Nowitzki came back from injury. They should have no problem with Washington. Pick is Dallas!!
3. Memphis (+3) at home against the Orlando Magic. The Magic are only 13-11 on the road this year and have struggled against teams that aren't bottom feeders in the last month. The Grizzlies have won 4 of their last 5 games, and look to take advantage of an Orlando team that played yesterday. Go Grizzlies with the points (+3).

NBA Sunday
NBA Sunday
1. Alert**Deron Williams is out again today, so the bet of the day is G-State (-2.5) at home vs Jazz. We all know how bad the Jazz have played on the road this month (1-6). The Warriors are 13-10 at home on the season, but should improve on that tonight. Go Warriors!!
2. Get in on the Lakers (-2.5) vs Boston. Old teams like Boston struggle on long road trips and they played terrible on Friday losing to the Suns by 17. The play is to take the Lakers and buy a half point adjusting the line making it (-2). Go Lakers!!
**Maybe more later today, I just woke up. Go Lakes!

NBA Quick Hits
NBA Saturday
1. The Bulls (-7.5) at home against the Pacers. The Bulls are hot right now winning 4 in a row and own a 22-4 Home record on the year. The Pacers have really struggled on the road, losing 13 of their last 14 games. Yes, Indy won last night by 32 points at home vs New Jersey, but bad teams usually don't play two good games in a row. The Bulls should dominate. Pick Chicago!!
2. Milwaukee (-5.5) hosts the NJ Nets, with both teams coming off a game last night. The Bucks won in OT last night on the road in Toronto, while the Nets lost by 32 in Indiana. The Nets have lost 20 of their last 21 road games. Pick the Bucks!!

NBA Friday
NBA Friday - Tough games today
1. Let's start with Denver (-9.5) at Cleveland. The Cavs have lost 18 straight games and are 5-14 at home. They have won one game in the last two months. The Nuggets beat them by 28 points just two weeks ago. Denver has won two straight road games and should make it 3 tonight. Go Nuggets!!
2. The Utah Jazz (-8.5) host the T-Wolves tonight, and will be without star point guard Deron Williams. The Jazz are 15-8 at home, but might be missing F Paul Millsap as well with a bad thumb. If they have no Williams and no Millsap, then covering a large spread will be very difficult. Thinking Minnesota (+8.5).
3. The 76ers (-3) take on Memphis in Philly. The 76ers have won three straight and are 14-7 at home. Memphis can play, but will be thin on the bench without O.J. Mayo (suspension). Let's go with Philly!!
4. Boston (-3.5) takes on the Suns in Phoenix tonight on ESPN. The Suns have lost three in a row, including a home loss to Charlotte on Wednesday. The Celtics are rolling right now after pummeling Portland last night by 10. The Celts have won 7 of their last 8. Let's go Green--Celts baby!

NBA Thursday and Injury Update
NBA Tonight - 3 Games
1. The night game with Boston (-4) at Portland is the one we like the best. The Blazers aren't the same team without Roy and Camby, and tonight they play the Celtics and their Eastern Conference best 12-7 road record. The Blazers are coming off a 15 point home loss to last place Sacramento and looked completely out of rhythm. Boston just pummeled the Cavs by 17 on Tuesday and are just starting their west coast road trip tonight. Teams generally play better at the beginning of road trips. The Celts are the big pick!!
2. The Heat (-3.5) battle the Knicks in New York on TNT at 5:00 pm. The next point of interest is the Over/Under 211. The Knicks snapped a 6 game losing streak on Monday by beating the Wizards. The Knicks play better at home and score more points as well. The Heat won't have F Chris Bosh tonight and will start 3 point shooter James Jones in his place. Look for a high scoring affair. Lebron loves playing in the Garden. The Over started at 208 but should be no problem. Go with the Heat and the Over!! Lebron failed to hit a jumper all game finishing 7-24 shooting with all dunks or layups--amazing.
**Notable Players - OUT for at least the Weekend
Boston: Shaq O'Neil, J. O'Neil, D.West. Hou: Brad Miller. Port: Marcus Camby, B.Roy. Mil: B.Jennings, J.Salmon. CHI: J.Noah. Nets: T.Murphy. Char: Ty.Thomas. LA-Clip: Eric Gordon, C.Kaman. Ind: B.Rush. Spurs: M.Bonner. Cavs: Mo Williams. Sac: F.Garcia. Wash: Josh Howard

NBA Tonight
Great Lakers Game last night, but a little disappointed with the huge blowout. The ultra scrubs played most of the fourth quarter, even Luke Walton got pulled for Joe Smith late.Wow. Thanks Bro.
NBA Tonight - Wednesday January 26, 2011
1. Let's look at the OKC Thunder (-5) at Minnesota. Minnesota is 1-9 in the last 10 games and the Thunder are in first place and need a win badly. The Thunder have struggled against top teams this season, the Wolves are not top tier. Roll with the Thunder!!
2. Atlanta (-2) travels to Milwaukee where they look to improve on their impressive road record 15-9. They should get Al Horford back just in time for tonight. Go Hawks!! How do you get outscored by 19 in the 4th Q?
3. New Orleans (-2) travels to G.State, looking to keep their 9 game win streak alive. The Warriors play well at home, but not recently. Let's go with the Hornets!!
4. Spurs (-3) at Utah. The Spurs are the best team in the NBA, and play the best on the road 14-5. Yes, the Jazz are a much better team at home 15-7. We really don't see the Jazz getting out of their funk quite yet. Go Spurs!!

AFC Championship Game Recap and NBA Picks
AFC Title Game Recap: Pittsburgh 24, NY Jets 19
The Steelers came out of the gates firing on all cylinders with a great combination of short passes and inside running plays. Pittsburgh drove 66 yards on 15 plays eating up over 9 minutes of clock on the game's opening possession. RB Rashard Mendehall capped the drive with a 1 yard TD run coming on his 8th carry of the drive making the score 7-0. The Pittsburgh offensive line had their way with the Jets on this drive and much of the first half. The Steeler defense was also sharp in the first half holding the Jets to 1 yard of net rushing on the ground in the first 30 minutes. An absolutely incredible feat considering that the Jets came into the game averaging over 148 yards on the ground in the regular season (4th highest in the NFL). With the NYJ running game held in check, the passing game led by QB Mark Sanchez struggled as well. The Jets only had four first downs in the first half and three of those came on Pittsburgh penalties. On the other hand, Pittsburgh dominated possession in the first half with two more long drives of over 60 yards resulting in a short 20-yard field goal and a Roethlisberger TD scramble making it 17-0 with under two minutes to go in the half. The Jets were unable to pressure Big Ben or stop the running game. Mendenhall had over 100 yards rushing in the first half on the NFL's 3rd ranked rush defense, while Heath Miller and Emmannuel Sanders added big catches for first downs keeping the Jet defense off balance. The play of the game and spread buster came on 3rd down when Pitt DB Ike Taylor blitzed and sacked Sanchez forcing a fumble that was returned 19 yards for a TD by William Gay putting Pittsburgh up 24-0.
The Jets would rally in the second half behind Sanchez and a rejuvenated defense. Sanchez finally found his way with the short passing game to TE Dustin Keller (8 rec-64 yds) and WR Jerricho Cotchery (5-33, TD). WR Santonio Holmes made a phenomenal 45-yard TD catch in the third quarter against his former team but only finished with one other grab. In the end the Jets came up a touchdown short even though they shut out the Steelers in the second half, 24-19. The big drive of the game came at the beginning of the fourth quarter, when the Jets had first and goal at the Steeler 2 yard line and failed to score on a couple of runs up the middle and ill-advised passes.
What we learned: The Pittsburgh Steelers can hurt you in a lot of ways. Their running game can carry the load and Roethlisberger can move the chains with short passes. If that's not enough, the defense can generate turnovers and score as well. The Steelers lost Pro-Bowl Center Maurkice Pouncey to a high ankle sprain and might miss the Super Bowl, his backup Lagursky had problems and even caused a safety with a fumbled snap in the fourth quarter following the big fourth down stop of Tomlinson. Something to watch for in the upcoming weeks before the Super Bowl. The Jets were able to shut down the Steelers in the second half when they crowded the line of scrimmage and forced Big Ben to throw the ball deep. Ben had some receivers open but was unable to locate them, even throwing a interception when Sanders was open down field. Hines Ward has lost a step to say the least and the Jets were able to shut down Mike Wallace with safety help. The Jets played their hearts out but were unable to come back down 24 points. They needed one more big play, like the Steelers got from Taylor and Gay on the sack/fumble at the end of the first half. That was the difference. Next season, the Jets will be dangerous because Sanchez will continue to improve and Shonn Greene should develop into a more complete running back. Our picks Pittsburgh (-3.5) and the Over 38.5 came through nicely.
**Opening Line for the Super Bowl is Green Bay (-2.5) vs Pittsburgh and the Over/Under 44.5
NBA Tonight:
1. Game of the Night has to be Clippers at Dallas (-6). The Clippers should be without star guard Eric Gordon with a hurt wrist. The Clipps are also 3-13 on the road and Dallas has been playing much better since getting Dirk Nowitzki back from injuries. The Mavs are the Big Pick!!
2. The Lakers (-7.5) are at home vs the Jazz, who are on a dreadful road trip losing 4 in a row. Look for the Lakers to jump all over the Jazz. Go Lakers!
---I am on the way to the Lakers Game right now, we need a W!
**There is a small slate of games tonight but a lot of games tomorrow.

NFC Championship Game Recap and NBA Games
Well the games are over and now we must look at the aftermath..........
Green Bay 21, Chicago 14
The Packers jumped ahead in a hurry led by a furious passing attack going 84 yards in under five minutes. The first two plays were passes to Greg Jennings for 48 yards, then later in the opening drive QB Aaron Rodgers hit Jordy Nelson on a key 22 yard toss. Rodgers ended up running the ball into the endzone on bootleg to cap off the drive. Green Bay's opening drive would be indicative of the first half. Chicago's inability to bring pressure with a four man rush would allow Rodgers time to find receivers down the field. Jennings was basically unstoppable and when the Bears were able to cover him they allowed Rodgers to scramble for first downs. The Packers scored again to go up 14 points at the beginning of the second quarter keyed by another pass to Nelson deep in Chicago territory. The Bears would only have five first downs in the first half as Cutler was flustered by the Packer pass rush and only able to complete one pass down the field. The Bears only success in the first 30 minutes came on short passes to RBs Matt Forte and Chester Taylor. The Bears had their best two chances at the end of the half but were wiped away by a phantom holding call on Taylor and a questionable interception that showed the ball hitting the ground but upheld by the replay booth.
The second half started out just like the first one with the Bears unable to move the ball and Green Bay dominating the field. When the Bears pulled Cutler (MCL Injury) and brought in backup QB Todd Collins some thought we might see some life in the Bears offense...we were wrong. It didn't come until coach Lovie Smith put in third string QB Caleb Hanie that the Bears were able to show signs of life. On Hanie's first drive of the game, he led them to their first touchdown early in the fourth quarter. The key play was a 32 yard pass to Johnny Knox down to the 1 yard line. The Bears were now in the game only trailing by one score, thanks in large part to their defense which had managed to shut down the Packers in the second half. After the defense forced two more punts, the Bears got the ball back down 14-7 with 7:22 to go in the game. Then the play of the game was turned in by Packer DT B.J Raji, he picked off Hanie on third down and ran it back for the game winning 18 yard touchdown. The Bears would score later on a 35 yard touchdown pass to WR Earl Bennett making it 21-14, but wouldn't be able to complete the comeback as Hanie would throw another interception with under a minute to go deep in Green Bay territory.
What we learned: The Green Bay defense is playing their best at the right time. They were able to generate pressure with just a four man rush. DTs Cullen Jenkins and B.J. Raji were dominant and when a team doesn't have to blitz to create pressure, then it is very hard to beat down them the field. The only thing that the Bears were able to do is dump the ball short to Forte (just as we predicted) and hope that he could break tackles. The Packers even outplayed the Bears on special teams, making Devin Hester irrelevant. The Bears punted twice after failed drives inside the Packer 35 yard line instead of attempting long field goals. I was shocked to see Lovie Smith play so conservatively down multiple scores in the first half. Rodgers and the Packer offense played better than what the score indicated. He was intercepted inside the Bear 10 yard line by Urlacher and had one ball go off Donald Driver's hands then bounce off his foot into the air resulting in a pick by Lance Briggs. Coach McCarthy dialed down the offense in the second half (predicted) to protect the lead and run the clock out. RB James Starks was better then his 3.3 YPC, but not by much. Jennings and Nelson combined for nearly 200 yards on 12 catches and were virtually unstoppable. The play of the game and point spread buster came on the pick by Raji. The Packers barely covered the spread at the end of the game with the two late interceptions. Our Under 43.5 came through rather easily even with the flurry of fourth quarter points.
**We will examine the AFC Title Game tomorrow. Pittsburgh 24, NY Jets 19. We Won Pitt (-3.5) and the Over 38.5...Great Game!
Let's get to the NBA games real quick:
1. Let's go Orlando (-11.5) at home vs Detroit. The Magic are 17-5 at home while the Pistons are 4-19 on the road. The Pistons were down 15 last game in the 4th but rallied to win at home vs Phoenix, that should not happen this time. Go Magic!!
2. The Kings are at Portland (-6.5) in the Rose Garden where the Blazers have dominated opponents (16-5). The Kings are 3-16 on the road while sitting in last place in the Pacific Division. Let's Go Portland!!
3. The Spurs (-5.5) play at G-State. The Spurs are coming off a 24 point beat down loss at New Orleans. They should respond with a win tonight against the Warriors which needed overtime to beat the lowly Kings on Friday night at home. Taking Spurs but the Warriors are tough at home.

NBA Game and NFL Update for Sunday
Alright it's NFL Sunday.
Only Notable Inactives for NYJ at Pitt
Pitt: Aaron Smith DE and NY Jets John Connor RB and Vernon Gholston DE. So, Brad Smith and Jason Taylor will play. (Updated 2:28 PST)
Only Notable Inactives for GB at CHI
CHI: Devin Aromashodu WR and GB Frank Zombo LB. That means Bears Safety Chris Harris will play.
**The spread is up to Pitt (-4) and the Over/Under is down to 42 in the GB vs CHI
The NBA game:
1. Nuggets at home vs Indy. Let's go Denver (-8) and the under is at 216. Indy is cruising along and Denver just got spanked by the Lakers on Friday. It's time for payback. Pacers are due for a beating and are running on fumes on this road trip. The Nuggets should cruise!!!
**Grab a beer or 9 and yell at somebody on the Bears to do something right. One big play and Chicago (+3.5) can do it. If they fail then we always have the Steelers---they won't let us down. Steel Curtain Time! Hold the Line.

NBA Saturday and NFL Update
NFL Update
1. The money in Vegas is being bet on the Chicago Bears +3.5 and the Under 43.5. Some websites and casinos have even lowered the Total to 42.5 now.
2. The money in the AFC Title Game has been going on the Steelers and the Under 38.5. At first glance, people seem to be scared of the weather in both games. It's hard to blame them, both fields were already torn up and in bad condition before the new wave of winter storms.
3. The changes in the spreads should never deter you from sticking to your picks.
4. Always take your picks when you like the spread, if you think that the spread is favorable then do not hesitate until later. If a game looks to good to be true, then people will react and the line will move.
**It looks like Jason Taylor and Brad Smith will play for the Jets this weekend.
**The Bears LB Pisa Tinoisamoa is now in danger of missing Sunday's game with a knee injury.
NBA Saturday
1. Let's ride the Suns (-1.5) at Detroit. The Suns have won 5 in a row and Detroit is well....Detroit. The Pistons lost by 15 to New Jersey last night and the Suns won by 18 at Washington. Phoenix is the pick!! Lost a 15 point lead with 9 minutes to go, and scored a season-low 74 points.
2. Great west coast game tonight with 2 teams that play ZERO Defense. Get the Over in the Clippers/G.State tonight at 214!! (Updated 7:30 WCT)

NBA Today
It's Friday and you ain't got shit to do.
NBA on Friday January 21, 2011
1. Utah at Boston (-5.5). Utah is playing terrible on the road right now losing at Memphis, Washington and New Jersey recently. Boston is dominant at Home going 20-3. The big pick is the Celtics!!
2. Toronto at Orlando (-12) Over/Under 206. This game smells like a high scoring one. Toronto tries to run-and-gun and Orlando can flat out shoot from the perimeter. Let's go Over!
3. Sacramento at G.State (-6). The Kings are 3-15 on the road and the Warriors have won 3 straight games. Garcia is hurt for SacTown and the Warriors have been scoring in bunches lately. Go with G-State!!
4. Lakers (-1) at Denver w/Over/Under 210. Denver is remarkably 19-4 at home and the Lakers have been struggling on the road. This game worries me for LA. The numbers say Denver. I'm thinking that if Denver wins then the game goes Over, and if the Lakers win then it should go Under. Interesting situation to watch for on parlay bets where you can get the odds. Lake Show!

NFL and NBA Updates
Top Five Game Changing Players for Championship Weekend
5. Antonio Cromartie - Playing opposite Darrelle Revis creates a lot of opportunities to make plays, the problem is that he gambles and is susceptible to getting burnt deep. Regardless, a pick-six could propel the Jets to victory.
4. Charles Tillman - He will be tested all game by Jennings and Rodgers. He is the Bears best cover man and will have to come up big for the Bears to stop Green Bay's aerial assault. If he can shut down Jennings then the rest of the secondary can generate turnovers.
3. Erik Walden - This little known Green Bay LB had 16 tackles and 2 sacks in Week 17 vs the Bears. The Bears should be ready for him this game. If he creates pressure then it will be a long disastrous day for Cutler.
2. Emmanuel Sanders - He had 7 grabs for 78 yards last meeting vs NYJ in week 15 and had 4 for 54 yds last Saturday. He has become a favorite target of Big Ben and has the ability to burn the Jets secondary if they focus too much on Wallace.
1. Devin Hester - Ok, we all know how good the former Hurricane DB is at the return game. The weather conditions will be wicked and one big return by Hester on a low punt would put Chicago in control of this game. Hester can make any touch a game changer.
NFL Injuries - Questionable-NYJ Brad Smith WR/Ret., CHI Chris Harris S, NYJ Jason Taylor DE. Out-Pitt Aaron Smith DE
NBA Today
1. Clippers at Trail Blazers (-3.5) Over/Under 194.--This game will be high scoring with both teams playing in the second game of a back-to-back. The Clips play no defense and will push the ball for Blake Griffin. Take the Over 194!!!
2. Beware of the Bulls (-3.5) without Boozer, they are thin up front but playing well and are 18-4 at home. Dirk Nowitzki is still rusty after his recent return from injury, but the Mavs beat the Lakers 109-100 last night at home.
3. Philly has been playing decent, but it will not be easy at Charlotte (-5). Philly is 5-17 on the road this year.

NFL Championship Weekend
The NFL Championship Weekend is coming this Sunday, so let's get after it.
NFC Title Game Sunday at 12:00 Noon (PST) Green Bay -3.5 at Chicago - Over/Under 43.5
The Packers have a superior team as predicted by the odds makers in Vegas. It's a rare feat that a #6 seeded playoff team can go on the road and be favored by over a field goal in the NFC title game. Our gut says go with the Pack, nobody can stop Rodgers through the air but coach McCarthy. Green Bay almost lost to Philly in the opening round because they took their foot off the pedal and forced a weak rushing attack to control the clock. If they do that this week against a stout Chicago defense then it will end their season. RB James Starks is decent at best and lacks big game experience (25 carries for 66 yards last week). The Bears will handle him easily and make the Packers one dimensional. The key match ups will be the Packers WRs vs the Bears DBs in their Cover 2 zone. Driver is hobbled and James Jones has stone hands. We all know Jennings makes big plays (Week 17 vs Chicago) but Jordy Nelson could be the difference maker. Either way, if McCarthy has it his way than it should be close.
The Bears will have a hard time running with Matt Forte against the Packers tough front seven. The Packers need to be worried about Forte out of the backfield. His ability to beat the Packers LBs out in space is where the Bears need to focus. The Packers defensive weakness lies in the short passing game. Their linebackers don't cover well (I'm looking at you A.J Hawk) and are often fooled by play action. If the Bears can get out to an early lead sparked by their defense or special teams, then they can control the tempo and use play-action to move the football on the Pack. If not, then it will be tough to move the ball consistently and will expose Cutler to Green Bay's effective blitz packages. Chicago doesn't have the ability to come from behind and should play conservatively on offense.
The Pick: Green Bay 23, Bears 20 - Under 43.5
*It will be freezing and a little windy, plus Green Bay's road games have gone 'Under' in 7 out of 10 games this season.
*Chicago is the pick with the points at home in a storm
AFC Title Game Sunday at 3:30 pm (PST) NY Jets at Pittsburgh (-3.5) Over/Under 38.5
The Jets can play and the Patriots learned that the hard way last week in Foxboro. The Jets winning formula relies on the ability to use their passing game after showing their commitment to the run. After they run the ball successfully, they tend to open it up with Holmes and Edwards down the field. LT has lost a step and Shonn Greene's inability to catch and block will limit him. Pittsburgh is too tough against the run for them to factor. Edwards has terrible hands but the potential is always there for big plays. Holmes is the playmaker and comes up large in big games. Watch out for him on the quick slants given his incredible ability to run after the catch. Don't be fooled by Mark Sanchez, he stinks. Watch him play. He throws the ball late and frequently off target. If he does that again this week, then there is no way the Jets will win this game. The Steelers are fierce on defense with Polamalu back in the lineup, and nothing will come easy for the Jets on offense.
The Steelers will look to Big Ben to lead the way on offense. Unlike Brady, Ben can move around in the pocket and isn't afraid of pressure. The Jets will blitz early on, then drop off in zone coverage forcing Roethlisberger to attack the middle of the field using his secondary receivers. Look for Heath Miller to have a big game. The Steelers are a rare team that has the speed on the outside to beat the Revis and Cromartie. If the Jets blitz and don't get to Ben, then Mike Wallace and Emmanuel Sanders will make them pay.
The Pick: Pittsburgh 24, NY Jets 17 - Over 38.5
*Brad Smith has been hurt and Nick Folk is tragic. Without a special teams edge, the Jets will lose the battle for field position and lose this game regardless of what Coach Rex Ryan predicts.
*There will be more passing in this game than most might expect and 38 points doesn't seem high enough.
2010-2011 Playoffs Predictions Record: 11-5 versus the Spread and Over/Under
Wild Card Weekend: NO & Over, Jets & Under, Balt & Under, G.Bay & Over
Divisional Weekend: Balt & Over, G.Bay & Over, Chicago & Under, NE & Over
