NBA First Half Analysis

NBA First Half Analysis

We just ended this final week of the NBA first half going 6-3, almost 9-1. The Heat won by 8, favored by 9. The Jazz hit a 3-pointer at the buzzer to cover the spread against Phoenix despite losing the game. Thank you C.J. Miles!
Last week, we went 7-2, thanks Lakes for at least starting the road trip well. We benefited on the Heat, Spurs and Lakers covering on the road. Generally, gotta love great NBA teams on the road with spreads under 8 points playing against some of the league's worst squads. Great Combo.
We even went 9-2-1 the week before in the NBA and picked the PACKERS to win the Super Bowl! Too bad the Packers lost Woodson, Shields and Driver late in the 2nd quarter up 21-3. I was actually almost worried for a minute.....but not really.

That's a 22-7-1 record in the NBA and the NFL SB winner.

Quick Notes on the Super Bowl: Green Bay absolutely dominated the first half until Woodson broke his collarbone. The Refs called half of their penalties on special teams--way too many. The Steelers had their chances and simply blew it with the three turnovers. The Mendenhall fumble was devastating. The Suisham field goal attempt was probably the worst kick ever in a Super Bowl. Ok, sorry Buffalo fans--Scott Norwood takes the cake. But seriously, Suisham missed that kick by over 20 yards. Big Ben played poorly like he always does in huge games, he just didn't get bailed out by his defense this time. The Pitt 4 WR set worked wonders when the Packers were missing half of their starting secondary and were forced to play guys that hadn't seen the field in a month. Rodgers was unstoppable, can you imagine if 1) his receivers caught those six dropped passes (3 could have been TDs), 2) Packer all-time WR leader Donald Driver wasn't hurt, 3) they were NOT playing against the Pitt top-ranked defense or 4) were able to play the Patriots soft defense and forced to score each possession in order to come from behind to win the game. It would have been ridiculous!

Have a great weekend, don't forget to watch the NBA All-Star Game and Dunk Contest. Griffin is down to (-250) to win.
