NBA Today

NBA Today

First, let's briefly go over the trades from today.

1. Utah sends PG Deron Williams to the Nets for PG Devin Harris and F Derrick Favors
2. NO Hornets sends G Marcus Thornton to Sacramento for F Carl Landry
3. Nets trade Troy Murphy to Golden State for Brendan Wright and Dan Gadzuric
4. Knicks trade F Anthony Randolph to Minnesota for cash

Our Picks:

1. Let's start with Phoenix (-3) at home against the Hawks. I went to the Lakers vs Hawks game last night and it was ugly. Atlanta is 12-10 against the Western Conference this year and have problems scoring. They are 5-5 in their last ten games and it shouldn't get any easier tonight. The Suns are 7-3 in their last ten, and should benefit from fresh legs after a nice long break. Phoenix can score a lot of points, so go with the Suns!!
2. Dallas (-9) hosts the Jazz tonight, it would looks like a major mismatch. The Jazz will be without PGs Deron Williams and Devin Harris, and will have Earl Watson running the show. The Jazz have lost four straight, including a home loss to the Warriors 107-100 in their last game before the break. The team is in disarray and new Coach Tyron Corbin has yet to win a game. It won't come tonight at Dallas. The Mavs have won 13 of their last 14 games. Their one loss was at Denver 121-120 on a buzzer beater by Arron Affalo. They should roll tonight, get the Mavs!!
3. Finally, we have Orlando (-13.5) at home playing the Sacramento Kings. The Magic have won two straight and are 21-8 at home. They sould pound the Kings, who will be without star PG Tyreke Evans for at least three weeks. The Kings have lost their last three road games by 30, 16 and 20 points. They are a joke right now and should be treated accordingly. They have the second fewest wins on the season (Cavs) and their starting lineup is a horrific. Go with the Magic!!
